Meet Debbie and Ralph

Summit County has been our home since 2017. Prior to that, it was our dream to someday move to Breckenridge (a dream that started when Ralph was just 19 years old), but it never seemed like it would be a reality. Until one fateful August day in 2017.

We left Summit County as we always did and made the 14-hour trek back to Plano, Texas. On our drive home, we talked about what it would be like to live in Colorado and what we would change if we left Texas. We arrived home at 10 p.m. to an unbearable 95 degrees. Not amused by the heat, our then 10-year-old son asked in an exasperated tone if we could just move to Colorado. It was like we all read each other’s minds. We put our house on the market the very next day and moved to Breckenridge 2 months later. It’s been the absolute best decision for our family.

Fortunately for us, we were both at places in our career where we could easily make the move. Ralph had his own successful general contracting company. Debbie had her own management consulting business with steady clients in various locations meaning she could work from anywhere.

We now live in Silverthorne. Our children, Samantha and Garrett, attend Summit High School. To say our family is thriving in this beautiful community is an understatement! Garrett loves skiing, mountain biking and riding his dirt bike on the trails. Samantha has been blessed with amazing ski instructors at the BOEC and races with the Special Olympics Ski Team.

As for us, we are so thankful that we followed our heart and made the move. We are grateful every day for our Summit 2nd Homes clients.
